Children's Grief Center
School Grief Support Project

The Children's Grief Center is partnering with area school districts to help bring our services to the community.

We finished our last School Grief Project on March 10th at the Eastwood feeder pattern in the YISD. Fifteen families participated in the project with children, teens and their parents or guardians.

Our effort is to offer life affirming skills and hope for the future to grieving children, teens and their parents. We work to help improve mental wellness during an emotionally difficult time.

Our next project will be again for the YISD.

The Children's Grief Center…
Recently recognized our volunteer Elena Saucedo with a 20 year Recognition Award for her service to the Center. In those 20 years, Elena has been a Group Facilitator, a fundraiser, an advocate, a liason with her company, El Paso Electric, and friend to the Center.

If you know Elena, give her a big "Way To Go!"

Children's Grief Center
is proud to announce the release of the children's book…

Not The End of the Chavez Family
No Es el fin de la familia Chavez

The story is about the Chavez Family, a Children's Grief Center family and their journey from grief to healing and hope, following the loss of their dad. The book is written in English and Spanish, making it more enjoyable for our borderland families. The story is beautifully written by Mari Dombkowski, an Austin, Texas author with illustrations by Nazar Horokhivskyi. We are so proud to present it. It is available for sale on Amazon and on Mari Dombroski's website at We will be making the book available to area schools that we serve through the School Grief Support Project.
