BUILDING A GRIEF-INFORMED COMMUNITY

Training & Consultation at CGC

At the Children’s Grief Center of El Paso, we help turn grief awareness into compassionate, informed action. Drawing on more then 30 years of experience supporting grieving children, youth, and families, our Training & Consultation Hub equips educators, healthcare and mental health professionals, employers, and community organizations with practical, evidence-informed tools to respond to loss.

From foundational grief education to specialized training and organizational consultation, we tailor each partnership to your team’s needs—building the knowledge and confidence to recognize grief responses, strengthen supportive practices, and connect families with appropriate resources.

Together, we can create schools, workplaces, and communities where those navigating grief feel understood and supported.

Our trainings and workshops aim to translate grief-informed concepts into practical strategies for supporting grieving children, youth, and families. Tailored to your audience, setting, and learning goals, each session helps participants strengthen their skills and apply what they learn in their daily work.

We also offer specialized professional development for social workers, mental health professionals, and educators addressing the complexities of sudden and traumatic loss, including but not limited to:

  • the death of a classmate/coworker,
  • suicide,
  • homicide,
  • sudden & anticipatory death,
  • community or mass violence

These trainings explore the unique challenges surrounding these losses and provide approaches for offering compassionate, developmentally appropriate support.
